Bush , democrates seek to finalize auto bailout

The amonts of money they are talking about are less than the 34 billion dollars that the automakers asked congress for last week. Some people believe that they may need 75 to 125 billion dollars to survive in the long term. Lawmakers fear a recession will get even bigger if gm, ford, or chrystler collapse soon. Critics say market forces ought to determine the fate of the auto industry. In additon to reorganizing and protecting taxpayer investment possible ideas include Car Czar to oversee the bailout and additional concessions. An autoworker said the union was open to moves by chrystler forming an alliance with a rival auto company as long as it saves as many jobs as possible. Automakers all across america are struggling for work everyday and are willing to do anything to get thier job back.
